Join A Circle: Take a Journey of Faith
The St. Thomas Vision Statement for 2012 calls each of us to be transformed in our faith and to transform the community around us through service. Growing deeper in our relationship with God is a large part of this. Joining one of the Women’s Circles at St. Thomas gives you an opportunity to forge deep bonds of loving friendship, while digging into God’s Word.
This year’s study, Joshua: A Journey of Faith, invites you to bring the story of God’s people as they moved into the Promised Land into conversation with events in the Middle East today, and with your own life’s journey. The author, Mary Mikhael, was born in the Middle East and now lives in Lebanon. Her insights into the history of the area we know as Israel and Palestine can help us understand the current situation in those areas.
The women’s circles meet monthly from September through May. All women of the church and their friends are warmly encouraged to join one of these gatherings for women.
Tuesday Morning Circle
1st Tuesday—10:00—12 Noon
The Tuesday morning circle meets at the church in Room 7 with members providing refreshments. Occasionally, meetings and special events are held in members’ homes. The first meeting will be Tuesday, September 1, with Kay Cronk leading the Bible study. Circle Leader Bev Kelly (281-558-6326) will be pleased to answer your questions and add your name to the list. She can also assist with rides for those who indicate they need them.
Sunday Morning Circle
2nd Sunday—9:30—10:30 a.m.
Theodora Pounds coordinates the circle that meets during the Sunday morning education hour in the church library. Participants share the leadership. Because the second Sunday in September is the Fall Festival, the first meeting will be on a later Sunday. Contact Theodora Pounds (281-293-9866) for more information. She’ll be happy to hear from you.
